Police responded to reports of a shooting in South Lansing just after 12:30pm on Thursday.
When police arrived to the 4700 block of Christiansen they made contact with a 71-year-old male victim. He had a gunshot wound to his lower backside.
Offcers were also able to locate a witness. The witness gave statements/information regarding the shooting.
The victim was taken to a local hospital with a non-life threatening injury and is in stable condition.
Investigation discovered that the victim and the victim's son have a dispute with an acquaintance (suspect 1). Police were told that the victim and the witness were in the front yard of their residence when suspect 1 and another known suspect drove by in a vehicle.
As they passed one fired a gun at the victim and witness. The suspects did not stop, and they drove away.
Officers were able to locate the suspect vehicle in the 1400 block of Redwood. Both suspects were in the vehicle and taken into custody without incident.
One suspect is 18 years old, the other is 17. They were both taken to the Lansing Detention facility.
Charges could be issued as soon as Friday.
