UPDATE: Suspect threatened teller in a note

Posted

Police have confirmed a robbery at an area credit union that happened around noon on Friday.

FOX 47 received the information that the Adventure Credit Union had been robbed and sent out a crew.

The credit union is located at 2250 Lake Lansing Road in Lansing,

We were able to confirm with Lansing Township Police Chief, Adam Kline, that there was a robbery at that local credit union.

He told FOX 47 that two younger men in their mid-20's are suspects. They didn't use any weapons or brandish fake weapons.

However, one of the suspects handed a note to a teller that stated: “This is a robbery you have 30 seconds to empty tills or you will be shot." The other suspect spoke to a different teller demanding money and threatened to shoot as well.

Each teller handed over about $3000 each, which included a dye pack.

Some of the money was recovered with color on it in the Walmart parking lot in Eastwood Towne Center in Lansing.

The men are described as:
- A dark-skinned male, 5' 10", thin build, with dark hair, possibly Arabic, wearing grey pants, a white shirt, and a white bandana.
- A dark-skinned male, 6' 2", thin build, with dark hair, possibly Arabic, wearing a black bandana and a dark hooded sweatshirt with dark pants. Both had bandanas covering their faces.

Witnesses say they took off from the credit union towards the highway in a mid-size burgundy SUV 4-door. They are still at large.

There were two customers in the credit union at the time of the robbery. Those people are being held as witnesses by police.

Anyone with information should call the Lansing Township Police Department at 517-485-1700.
