UPDATE: State Police locate SUV that hit trooper's vehicle, took off

Michigan State Police say they've located the driver and vehicle believed to be involved in the hit and run accident. Charges are now being forwarded to the Jackson County Prosecutor's Office, MSP said.

ORIGINAL STORY: 
Michigan State Police Friday were looking for a Jeep that hit a troopers' car and took off Thursday evening.

According to State Police, it happened while troopers made a traffic stop on Cooper Street, near Porter Street, in Jackson around 9:30 p.m.

The trooper's car was struck by a white Jeep Grand Cherokee. State Police said the driver then took off.

Troopers were outside the patrol car when it was hit and were not hurt in the incident.
