UPDATE: Six killed, two injured in Kalamazoo...

Six people have been killed and two are critically injured in what police describe as a series of random shootings around the Kalamazoo, Michigan area.

A woman and a 14-year old girl are among the shooting victims in critical condition.

Investigators say 45-year-old Jason Dalton is in custody and being questioned by police. According to Kalamazoo Public Safety, Dalton killed six people then submitted himself to police without a fight. He was armed at the time of his arrest.

The shootings happened in three parking lots across Kalamazoo county within five hours. Dalton first arrived at the Meadows Townhomes parking lot in Richland Township around 6:00 pm Saturday afternoon. He took out a handgun and critically injured an unnamed woman.

About three hours later, Dalton arrived at Seelye Kia in Kalamazoo, about one mile away from Western Michigan University. He shot and killed a father and a son in the parking lot before fleeing.

Shorty after Dalton drove to a Cracker Barrel restaurant, shooting and killed four other victims. State police believe the shootings are random.

At approximately 5:00 a.m. Sunday morning, police searched Dalton's home for any motive towards the shooting.
