A Clinton County Sheriff's deputy appears to have caused a crash early Saturday.
It's believed that the deputy did not stop at a stop sign at Maple Rapids Road where it crosses U.S. 127 north of St. Johns. The deputy collided with a northbound vehicle around 12:42 a.m.
The deputy and other motorist, a Tecumseh man, were sent to the hospital after the crash. The deputy had minor injuries, and was released that morning. The other driver is in stable condition.
The crash is being investigated by the Eaton County Sheriff's Office Accident Reconstruction Team. Clinton County asked Eaton County officials to investigate once they realized their deputy may have caused the crash.
