Former Michigan State University football player, Auston Roberston, was sentenced in court on Wednesday.
He was charged with 2 counts of third-degree criminal sexual conduct and has been in the Ingham County jail since last month.
Robertson is accused of raping a woman in Meridian Township in April 2017.
Wednesday, he pleaded guilty to assault with intent to penetrate and will receive up to 10 years. His sentencing is scheduled for December 4, 2018.
He will also be registered as a sex offender.
Robertson was previously in Kansas where he was arrested last spring on armed robbery and drug charges.
He played for MSU in 2016.
