LANSING, Mich. — Demonstrators walked the streets of Lansing Monday night to protest Mayor Andy Schor.

Fox 47 Rachel Sweet followed the protesters from West Bound I-496 to the State Capitol and spoke with one of the protesters who say they want the Mayor to resign.

"All that happened today was that the people of Lansing, Michigan united and spread the message throughout the city from the Capitol to Frandor across the highway back to the Capitol and we want him to resign. We want Andy Schor to resign. That's what happened today," said Paul Birdsong.

Protesters told Fox 47 they marched safely throughout the streets and plan to do it again on Tuesday starting at 4 p.m.

Schor met with protesters at the Capitol building Sunday, June 7, to listen to what they had to say. The protesters questioned Schor, after they say Schor was ill-prepared to answer questions they had about the police department.

Schor then responded on Sunday to the protesters at the Capitol, saying he would defund the police department $100,000.

The demonstrators are now calling for Schor's resignation.
