Lansing Police have identified the man killed in a shooting Monday night.
Police say 27-year-old Matthew Ryan Smoke of Lansing, was found with a gunshot wound in the 3000 block of South Washington just before 7p.m.
Police say his was seated in a vehicle located in the parking lot of the business at the address. He was taken to a local hospital where he later died.
Preliminary information determined by Officers and Detectives investigation into this homicide indicates the following;
Smoke patronized the business in the 3000 block of S. Washington. He left the business and entered a vehicle in the parking lot.
Police say he was then approached by an armed suspect. The victim and the suspect have a confrontation. The suspect shoots the victim and runs away on foot.
A Police K-9 attempted to track the suspect and was not unsuccessful. The suspect is described as a black male, 5'9" in height, 260 lbs. in weight, wearing a red hooded sweatshirt.
