UPDATE: Police identify deceased Charlotte man

Police have identified the deceased individual that was discovered in a home on Sheldon Street early Wednesday morning.

Charlotte police were called to a home on the 200 block of Sheldon street.

He's been identified as Mark Mazurek, who was 30-years-old.

A man in Charlotte is dead and police are trying to figure out what happened. Officers were called to a home on Sheldon Street early Wednesday morning.

"For something like this to happen is a little bit unnerving," said Megan O'Brien.

A community asking police for answers.

"It is a little frustrating just because you don't know if it was something serious," O'Brien said.

She woke up to flashing police lights on Sheldon Street Wednesday morning when she was trying to feed her 8 month daughter.

"It was about 3 a.m. and I saw several Eaton county, Charlotte PD," O'Brien said. "[With] some other unmarked vehicles and just a lot of commotion."

Police say they were called to the house at one o'clock by a woman and found a dead man when they arrived.

"From what i heard it was a younger couple," she said.

New to the neighborhood Megan was surprised to hear something like this happened so close to her home.

"It was about 7:30 a.m. this morning that the coroner," O'Brien said. "They had taken a body out. I mean it was all covered up."

A little shaken up Megan believes this incident could be isolated.

"It's a small town but it's just a little bit stressful," said O'Brien. "Just knowing that something serious could have happened just down the street, less than a block away."

And now she wants to know exactly what happened, "hopefully, they can get to the bottom of it."

Neighbors tell FOX 47 News throughout the morning they saw police remove several bags out of the home officers searching the cars and taking pictures.

Charlotte police are currently investigating.
