Police have arrested a man they described as armed and dangerous.
An armed carjacking happened in Summit Township on Thursday, October 18 around 5:30 p.m. in the 2500 block of Helena Avenue.
The suspect showed the victim a handgun and forced her out of her car before driving off in the car.
The man was described as a black male in his late 20's with short facial hair and a mustache, wearing a black sweatshirt, blue jeans, and black shoes.
Police arrested the 35-year-old man from Jackson in Jackson around 5:30 p.m. on Friday, October 19.
The vehicle that had been carjacked was a 2006 blue Hyundai Elantra 4-door with Ohio plates. It was recovered around 11 a.m. on Friday morning.
Police are thanking the community for tips through Crime Stoppers and their Facebook page that led them to the suspect. He was located and arrested within 24 hours since the crime occurred.
