The Jackson Police confirmed on Tuesday that 43-year-old Bobbie Jo Thomas was the victim in a stabbing that occurred on Sunday in Jackson.

Jackson police reported that a man who showed up at the hospital that night had someone else's blood on him.

Neighbors called after hearing a disturbance at a home on Orange Street.

When police arrived at the scene they found the body of a 43-year-old woman inside.

Police found the suspect by following a blood trail from Henry Ford Allegiance Hospital to the scene.

They don't know exactly what happened yet but said the suspect had a cut on his hand.

"It's too early to say for sure yet, but yes it did appear to be a cut from some type of cutting instrument most likely. And we do suspect it could've been a result of some sort type of struggle inside of that apartment," said Chief Elmer Hitt, Jackson Police Department.

Police told us the man and woman knew each other, they just don't know how yet.

The suspect is being held in the Jackson County jail on a parole violation.

Check back for updates as they become available.
