UPDATE: Missing girlfriend of Lansing drowning victim found, hospitalized

The girlfriend of a weekend drowning victim was found at Lansing City Market Monday night.

An endangered missing advisory was issued by Lansing Township Police for 21-year-old Danielle Martinez of Lansing Monday afternoon.

Martinez was found at 7:15 p.m.

According to the endangered missing advisory Martinez is distraught and suicidal over losing her boyfriend in a drowning over the weekend.

Jeremiah Diaz, a 20-year-old from Lansing, died on Sunday in Lake Michigan. He was swimming in Grand Haven when he began struggling in the water. Bystanders brought him out of the water and performed CPR, after he was taken to the hospital he was pronounced dead. He was one of two people that died while swimming there that day. A human chain was used to help other swimmers out of the water.

Martinez is at the hospital with family members. She is listed in stable condition and is expected to survive.
