The Jackson Police Department confirmed with News 10 that two shootings occurred at separate locations early Sunday morning.
At one of the shooting locations, a man was taken to the hospital with a gunshot wound. He is expected to survive.
The first shooting took place at West Biddle and Second Street shortly after midnight. Police said a car and house were shot up, and no victims were located.
The second shooting occurred 20 minutes later at the 900 block of Blair Park Apartments located off East Porter Street and Blair Park Drive, nearly two miles north of downtown Jackson. It is also ten minutes northeast of the first shooting's location.
Witnesses said they heard up to seven gunshots. A man in his early 30's was taken to Henry Ford Allegiance Hospital with a gunshot wound. Police said they don't know if the shooting was targeted or a random act.
Police said they do not believe the the incidents are related. They do not have any suspects at this time.
