A Meridian Township man was arraigned on open murder and other charges Tuesday morning in connection with last weekend's double homicide in Meridian Township.
26-year-old Manuel Pena was charged with 2 counts of open murder, armed robbery, larceny of a firearm, illegal possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and felony firearm.
Police discovered the bodies of 48-year-old Jeffrey Ballor and 46-year-old Kristin Pangman at a home in the 3300 block of Lake Lansing Road shortly after midnight Saturday.
According to court documents, detectives said the victims had been stabbed to death and the weapon was found on Pena during his arrest. Detectives also say Pena had blood on him and had some of the victims' possessions.
FOX 47 News is working to learn more about the crime and if there was a connection between the victims and suspect.
