Cleanup could take hours after a semi truck hauling watermelons ended up on its side Friday morning.
A lane on westbound Interstate 96 will be closed for the cleanup, the Ingham County Sheriff's Office said.
The sheriff's office told our crews that a trailer parked on the side of westbound I-96 in Leroy Township was waiting for a tire change, when another semi truck, hauling watermelons, clipped the parked tractor trailer, causing the second semi to fall into the ditch.
Officials expect cleanup to take hours, as the watermelons need to be removed in order to get the semi upright.
We're told the driver in the parked semi was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
The driver who's truck went into the ditch was not hurt.
No other vehicles were involved.
