The house fire that hospitalized 2 children and 2 adults in DeWitt Township Monday morning was caused by the improper disposal of smoking materials according to fire investigators.
They tell FOX 47 News the fire smoldered for a while before igniting pine needles under the porch.
The 4 victims listed in critical condition are improving according to the Township fire chief.
One of the adults got out of the house safely but went back inside to rescue her son.
