LANSING, Mich. — Lansing Police have in custody a suspect in a homicide that happened last month.
On December 14, police began investigating a murder after finding a dead body at a residence on the 3600 block of Bayview.
The deceased was 28-year-old Donovan Barfield of Detroit. He had died from a gunshot wound.
An 18-year-old in custody on an unrelated crime has been connected to the murder.
Neal Prince of Lansing was arraigned Thursday in 56-A District Court on two counts:
Count #1: Homicide – Open Murder
Count #2: Weapons - Felony Firearm
His next court appearance is scheduled in front of Judge Reincke on Jan. 22 at 1:30 p.m. for a probable cause hearing, followed by a preliminary exam on Jan. 28 at 3 PM.
