UPDATE: Homeless Angels respond to exit of Mike Karl

UPDATED INFORMATION: 
Thursday, the Homeless Angels organization sent out a statement regarding the exit of founder, Mike Karl. 

They said: "Homeless Angels has a great opportunity now to reboot our organization, continue our hotel program and work in a cooperative coalition with many others who share our mission to house the homeless and provide charitable services to the community. The future of Homeless Angels is bright, and we have several positive announcements planned in the future."

Lansing homeless advocate Mike Karl who founded the group "The Homeless Angels" has announced that he is leaving the organization. Karl made the announcement in a Facebook post, saying the direction of the organization has changed and is not line with his vision.

A press release stated that he felt as the the organization grew and partnered with Harvest House Ministries, he was unable to spend as much time working directly on the streets on outreach.

According to the release, Karl has formed "Cardboard Prophets" a non-profit organization with a mission to help homeless people one individual at a time.

He also announced plans for a street walk in Lansing for Saturday September 9, 2017.
