The northbound lanes of US-127 were closed near mile marker 55 due to an accident on Friday morning.
Traffic was backed up for miles around 7:55 a.m. between Baseline and Bellevue and travelers were diverted off the highway.
A Subaru was involved in the accident and was engulfed in flames, closing down the highway until about 9 AM.
