UPDATE: Driver that caused crash was 84-years-old

FOX 47 has confirmed a car accident that took place at the Walmart in Jackson on Michigan Avenue has sent three people to the hospital.

It happened at 12:48 p.m. on Monday, July 23.

Two people were walking into the Walmart when they were hit by a vehicle driven by an older woman, pushing them into the pole in front of the doors.

They were not pinned under the car.

The driver, an 84-year-old woman from Blackman Township, plus the two people were taken to the hospital.

One of the people is in surgery in "extremely critical condition." She is a 44-year-old woman from Jackson.

The other person is non-critical. She is 30-years-old and from Jackson.

A witness told FOX 47 that he saw a van hit a car and then hit the pole. He also said he could see people under the van.

The Blackman-Leoni Accident Reconstruction Team is working on the situation.
