LANSING, Mich. — The Ingham County Sheriff's Office is investigating after a woman's body was found in the Grand River in Onondaga Tuesday night.

On Thursday, June 27, the Sheriff's office confirmed the body was that of a female.

They say they are working with mid-Michigan agencies who have missing persons, as well as the Medical Examiners Office on making an identification.

A visual ID is not possible.

Deputies responded to Baldwin Park around 7:30 p.m. on June 25 for the report of a body in the river.

Kayakers located the body south of the park and called 911, according to a press release.

The Captial Area Dive Team responded and recovered a body.

The death is being investigated as suspicious at this time.

An autopsy has been ordered to determine a cause of death and to help with identifying the body.
