JACKSON, Mich. — A Jackson County woman charged in the death of a baby boy has pled guilty.

25-year-old Amber Reeves pleaded guilty to one count of manslaughter and one count of child abuse in the second degree for the death of 14-month-old Logan Tracy.

He died in October 2018 from blunt force trauma to his stomach. Prosecutors say Reeves beat the boy because she was angry with his father, who she was dating at the time. She was not Logan's mother.

Reeves waived her right to a preliminary exam, sending her case to Jackson County Circuit Court in December 2018.

She faces 15 years in prison for the one count of manslaughter and 10 years maximum for the one count of child abuse in the second degree.

Sentencing is set for April 10, 2019, at 8:30 a.m. in Jackson County.
