Investigators from the Michigan State Police Brighton Post continue their investigation into the deadly two-car crash in Livingston County earlier this month. Five people were killed.
Police say one survivor has been released while two others remain hospitalized. The crash happened on May 9, 2017, at approximately 10:30 p.m. in Livingston County’s Oceola Township at the intersection of Argentine Road and M-59.
One of the drivers, 22-year-old Matthew Carrier of Fenton, remains hospitalized as does one of his passengers, 23-year-old Kyle Lixie. The driver of the other car, 39-year-old Albert Rudolph Boswell of Oakland County was released from the hospital last week.
Michigan Parole Agent of the Year Candice Dunn was one of the five people killed in the crash. She was in the car with Boswell. Dunn's mother Linda Hurley and Jerome Tortomasi were also killed. Two passengers in the Carrier’s car, 20-year-old Justin Andrew-Humberto Henderson and 24-year-old Preston Wetzel, both of Fenton, also died at the scene.
Several interviews have been conducted and accident investigators are reviewing findings and physical evidence. The MSP is also awaiting completion of toxicology reports as it is now believed that alcohol was a factor in this crash.
When the investigation is completed and all medical reports have been gathered, the MSP will submit its report to the Livingston County Prosecutor’s office for review.
