Amaia was tragically shot and killed in 2010, during a home invasion.
Family members say they are still grieving but they find some peace knowing the 7 year old is making a difference as an organ donor.
We’re told Amaia has been able to save 5 lives and because of that gift of life, UM Health sparrow and the city of Lansing held a press conference to Wednesday to honor Amaia and encourage the community to do exactly what she did..
