U of M Prof accused of sexual assault

Posted

A University of Michigan student is suing the university and a prominent professor over sexual assault allegations.

In a suit filed in federal court, Andrew Lipian claims that U of M Professor, David Daniels, groped him, sent sexual photos and videos of himself, and requested sexual photos and videos from Lipian in return.

Daniels is also a renowned opera singer.

The suit also claims a university faculty member was aware of the assault and reported it to the university's Office of Institutional Equity.

Daniels took a leave of absence from Michigan this fall over claims he and his partner sexually assaulted a performer nearly a decade ago.

Both men denied those allegations.
