ANN ARBOR, Mich. (WSYM) — A University of Michigan researcher is facing federal charges tonight for child pornography.

U.S. court records allege 48-year-old Michael Zeidler shared pictures of young children being sexually abused.

The FBI raided his Ann Arbor home and his research office at U-M, where he's worked since 1999.

The court records say Zeidler admitted that he'd been downloading child pornography since 2012. He also admitted to secretly recording exchange students in his home bathroom.
