Two people were charged today with killing John Abraham in Delta Township earlier this month.

Andrew Johnson and Dymond Squires of Lansing were arrested Friday. They were charged with felony murder and safebreaking, they could get life in prison if convicted.

Detectives allege they broke into Abraham's home on Oakcrest Drive on July 5th, killed him with a blunt object and a knife, and stole money out of his safe.

Investigators told us Abraham had a connection of some sort with one of the suspects, leading them to believe this was not a random crime.

"We're obviously concerned with the brutality of this... Was this some sort of random act? We believe it was not random and that there's no need for concern from the community that there is an individual out there who is perpetrating other crimes," says Eaton County Prosecutor Doug Lloyd.

Bond was set at $10 million for both suspects. Detectives say it's that high because Johnson and Squires had been talking about leaving the area.

The two are expected in court August 1st for the preliminary hearing.
