A University of Michigan Life Flight was called to respond to an accident in Eaton Rapids early Friday morning.
It happened on Royston Road near Steele Highway in Hamlin Township just before 7 a.m. The Eaton County Sheriff's Office says two vehicles were involved in a head-on collision and both drivers suffered life-threatening injuries.
Airbags were deployed in both vehicles and there is no indication that alcohol was a factor in the crash. Royston Road will be closed until further notice while the investigation is completed.
Police are not releasing the names of the drivers involved until the families are notified.
