LANSING, Mich. — Two men accused in a deadly shooting at Lansing's Ferris Park will stand trial.

Denzel Gibbons waived his probable cause hearing and decided to go immediately to trial. But for Malcolm Williams it more than two hours of court, cross-examination and six-witnesses.

In the end, the judge found probable cause for Williams to stand trial on all counts he's charged with.

Investigators said an argument started the violence in Lansing back on Aug. 5 that left 17-year-old Taijion Gant dead and two others shot.

Forensic Pathologist Dr. Patrick Hansma, who took the witness, stand says Gant died from multiple gunshot wounds and called his death a homicide.

"He may have had some motion for a second or two, but I think that likely he would have dropped immediately had he been standing, which I don't know if that was the case but if he was standing, it would've been like sustaining a massive heart attack," Dr. Hansma said.

The family of Gant sat in the audience in tears as the details of his death were laid out again.

"A sense of emptiness. My life will never be the same. My kids, my family, life will never be the same," Gayla Brown, mother of the victim said.

Williams is accused of firing the bullet that killed Gant. His family says it's something that is still difficult to face.

"It's hard. You see all these clips of people forgiving people. I don't forgive. No. Neither one of them I don't forgive," Brown said.

Williams is facing murder charges along with assault with attempt to murder and two felony firearm charges.

"Life in jail wouldn't even matter because it wouldn't bring my baby back. But I don't want a slap on the wrist and for you to just be able to walk away but it's messed up anyway because they're both out on bond walking freely just as you and I walk freely," Brown said.

The trial dates for both Williams and Gibbons have not been set at this time.

Gibbons faces seven charges including assault with intent to murder.
