EAST LANSING, Mich. — Court documents have identified the 7 people charged with making fake claims to the MSU Healing Assistance Fund, a fund created to reimburse the victims of Larry Nassar's sexual abuse for the cost of therapy and other support.

Corey Riley is the only suspect who's been arraigned as of Monday afternoon. Court documents list the other 6 as co-defendants. Reese (1996-2000) and Donita Johnson (1997-2001) played for the MSU women's basketball team.

Michigan State University created the $10 million Healing Assistance Fund in 2017 to help cover the cost of treatment for survivors who were abused at MSU. The fund was frozen in July of 2018 because of the fraud investigation. In December the unused money, more than $8 million, was redirected to help pay for the $500 million settlement with the Nassar survivors.

The new Board of Trustees voted to create a new assistance fund at a meeting in January following an intense backlash from the survivors. The new fund opened in March.
