Two people were able to escape a fire at a house in East Lansing Tuesday morning.
It started in the basement on the 1800-block of Groton Way off Harrison a little after 9 a.m.
Firefighters had it under control about 20 minutes later.
There's smoke and fire damage, so the people who live there have to find somewhere else to stay.
Investigators don't now what caused the fire.
