Two people are facing murder charges in the death of Ronald Owens, who was shot and killed outside a Summit Township home on Friday.

30 year old Raheim Armstrong and 42 year old Prettyattie Cooper are charged with open murder and felony firearms, according to a press release from the Jackson County prosecutor's office. Police had previously named Armstrong as a person of interest in the murder.

Owens was found with a single gunshot wound to the head in the 200 block of West South Street in Summit Township Friday night. The 32 year old was taken to the hospital in critical condition, but later died of his injuries.

Both Cooper and Armstrong face a possibility of life in prison if convicted. They are expected to be arraigned as soon as possible.
