The trial for a woman charged in connection with a brutal murder of a Jackson man several years ago is set to begin Monday morning.

Tiffany Reichard is charged with open murder in the death of Matthew Cramton.

Cramton was found stabbed to death in his home on West Coler Street in Summit Township in January of 2009. Police say he was tied up and stabbed several times during a robbery attempt.

Another person is serving prison time for his role in the murder. Michael Beatty was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole back in January. Beatty admitted he broke into Cramton's home with the intent to rob him and stabbed him to death in his bedroom.

As part of his plea deal, prosecutors dropped the original charge of open murder and two unrelated charges of first-degree home invasion.

Reichard was Beatty's girlfriend at the time of the murder. Police believe she was in the house when Cramton was killed. Reichard faces up to life in prison if convicted.
