Crews started resurfacing Michigan Avenue near Sparrow Hospital in Lansing Monday morning.
The work zone stretches from Holmes Street to Charles Street just west of US-127.
Right now the lanes next to the curb are closed in each direction.
The interior lanes and left-turn lane should be closed next week.
The schedule depends on the weather.
This project is a short-term fix, meant to keep Michigan Avenue drivable until it can be rebuilt in the next few years.
