A special meeting is scheduled Tuesday night to discuss a potential medical marijuana moratorium in a Jackson County township.
Leoni Township has approved over 40 licenses for medical marijuana licenses.
On Tuesday, the township board will consider a temporary stoppage on approving even more licenses.
Licenses must be approved by the state and the township. Rules are also in place to keep the medical marijuana facilities away from schools, day-care centers, and churches.
The special meeting will take place starting at 5 p.m. on Tuesday at Leoni Township Hall, 913 Fifth Street, in Leoni Township.
