LANSING, Mich. — Storms Thursday night not only canceled several high school football games--they also caused some damage.
The National Weather Service has confirmed a tornado touched down in Shiawassee County.
The tornado brought about 85mph winds, damaged two barns and two garages and took down several trees in the new Lothrop area.
One home suffered structural damage and two other homes suffered shingle damage.
The National Weather Service said the tornado was on the ground for three minutes and 2.5 miles.
Everyone whose property was damaged has insurance, according to the county's emergency manager.
