Speaker of the Michigan House of Republicans, Tom Leonard, has announced his intent to run for Michigan's Attorney General.
“I am running for Attorney General to make Michigan safer and stronger,” said Leonard. “We can make Michigan safer by being tough on violent crime, ending sanctuary cities, and protecting our 2nd Amendment rights."
He says, “We can make Michigan stronger by protecting our senior citizens, healing our families by treating opioid addiction with a loving heart, and helping those in our community who are struggling with mental illness."
Tom Leonard currently serves as the Speaker of the Michigan House of Representatives. He and his wife and daughter live in Dewitt.
The Republican and Democratic parties will nominate their candidates for attorney general at conventions to be announced in 2018.
