JACKSON, Mich. — A child has been shot in Jackson.
It happened at 12:33 p.m. at the 400 block of Barrett Avenue in Blackman Township.
Officers discovered upon arrival that a 2-year-old male had been shot in the face and arm with a shotgun.
The suspect is a 32-year-old man from Blackman Township.
He and the mother of the child were having a domestic dispute when the woman loaded the toddler in the her vehicle and started to leave the scene.
That's when the man came out of the home with a shotgun and shot the child through the rear-passenger door's window.
The boy is in critical condition at Henry Ford Allegiance Hospital.
The man then took off in a vehicle, but was arrested later by police.
He has been taken into custody without any incident.
