A two year old boy drowned after falling into a pond in Hillsdale County Tuesday night.
Michigan State Police Troopers were called to a home in the 2000 block of Hog Creek Road in Allen Township around 7 p.m for reports of a drowning involving a child.
Investigators say the 2 year old had climbed into an aluminum boat that sat on the shore of a pond. The boy then fell over the back of the boat and into the pond.
Family members noticed the child was missing, and found him in the water after a few minutes. They performed CPR until first responders arrived. The child was taken to Pro-Medica Hospital in Coldwater where he was pronounced dead.
The MSP says the incident remains under investigation, and no foul play is suspected.
