On April 4, 1968, Civil Rights activist Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was assassinated in Memphis, Tennessee.
That was 48 years ago. Dr. King was only 39 years old at the time.
He was standing on the second floor balcony of a motel when he was gunned down. His death set off a string of protests and mourning.
