She's recently "beaked" the interest of the Jackson community after someone saved her from imminent danger earlier this month.
"I really didn't want anyone to run her over."
Maggie Lutz posted on Facebook, warning others to watch out for the bird. Soon, Tina the Turkey had her own Facebook page.
"I was upset that the turkey was going to get killed, but she's famous now," said Lutz.
The problem is, Thanksgiving is just one sleep away, and no one has seen her lately. People are starting to worry: Where in Jackson is Tina the Turkey?
I wanted to help, so I set off to find Tina.
Even though a turkey might be in danger around Thanksgiving, locals aren't suspecting "fowl play."
"People haven't done anything," said Lutz. "I wouldn't be surprised, but maybe people are more caring, and it's neat to see in the city."
Still, it's a bit disconcerting that she hasn't been seen in a few days.
"I’m trying to keep myself relaxed, because I don't need to stress about a turkey, but I don't want to hear that she got killed in the streets or anything," said Lutz. "I hope she makes it and keeps her turkey run going."
Unfortunately, I wasn't able to find her today. Just like the rest of the Jackson community, I’m hoping that Tina is safe and sound, preparing for tomorrow's turkey trot.
