Time is running out for Mid-Michigan families to apply for Christmas Assistance from the Capital Area Salvation Army. The Salvation Army helps provide food, gifts and toys for those in need.
Families in need have until Tuesday November 21, to sign up at the Salvation Army Distribution Center located at 3305 S. Pennsylvania Avenue (Between Mt. Hope & Cavanaugh).
About 240 families used the program in 2015. No appointment is needed to apply. Interviewing hours: Monday 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Tuesday: 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
To apply bring the following items:
- Picture ID for Person applying - This can be any one of the following: Driver's License, State ID, Passport, VISA, Government issued ID.
-Verification of Current Address - This can be any one of the following: Pictured ID, Current Bill, Currant piece of mail, Lease or Rent Receipt.
- Verification of ALL Children 17 & Under in the home - This can be any one of the following: Medicaid Card, Insurance Card, Birth Certificate, Social Security Card, Passport, VISA, Government Issued ID, or Custody Papers.
-Know the total monthly income information for everyone in the home.
