3 skimmers found in the state over the weekend

Posted

Three more credit card skimmers have been found in the state.

Over the weekend, the Michigan Department of Agriculture, the FBI, police from across the state and other officials, checked more than 3,000 pumps.

Skimmers were found at the Mugg and Bopps South and Mobil station in Howell and the Citgo in Cedar Springs.

Skimmers steal information off your credit card's magnetic strip.

More than 40 of them have been found at gas stations across the state since August.

You can't tell if a skimmer is inside a pump without opening it up, so the best way to avoid one is by paying inside.
