Three Eaton County residents are charged with stealing from self-storage facilities across parts of Mid-Michigan.
Brieann Treloar, 32, Corey Caudill, 32 and Richard Pettigrew, 55 are charged with breaking an entering and possession of burglary tools. Treloar and Caudill are from Potterville, and Pettigrew lives in Dimondale.
An Ionia County Sheriff's Deputy spotted the trio leaving a self-storage facility in Saranac just after midnight on October 28th.
After pulling the them over, the Deputy discovered the vehicle had an invalid plate covering the actual license plate, and the back seat passenger was in possession of a small pair of bolt-cutters. Deputies also recovered stolen property taken from the storage facility.
Three days later, detectives executed a search warrant at a home in Potterville. They found more items believed to have been stolen from storage facilities, along with heroin, meth, and two 'one pot' meth labs. Charges in relation to the drugs discovered are pending.
On November first, authorities searched a storage facility in Potterville, finding more stolen property. Detectives believe most of the items was taken from storage units in Ionia and Barry Counties.
Searching the suspect's cellphones, detectives were able to implicate them in a string of similar burglaries in other areas of the state.
