Thousands without power in Mid-Michigan

LANSING, Mich. — Mid-Michigan residents are beginning to report power outages Thursday night.

As of 7 p.m., more than 680 Charlotte residents had reported outages, as well as others near the Eaton-Clinton county line near Grand Ledge, Benton Township, and north of St. Johns.

More than 3,600 Lansing Board of Water & Light customers are without power, with the majority in the Delta Township-Waverly area, as of 7:15 p.m.

Freezing rain in the Grand Rapids area has caused power outages nearly to Portland.

Be prepared for a power outage by charging your phone, keeping your flashlight where you can find it easily and keeping batteries nearby.
