Thousands in the dark after storm; click to see outage maps

Monday 7 a.m UPDATE --- 
Consumers Energy is reporting 8,500 customers are still without power. Consumers Energy says power should be fully restored to most of the affected areas by late Monday.

DTE Energy is currently reporting around 250,000 power outages across the state. DTE Energy says it is working to restore power by sometime tomorrow to the affected areas.

Thousands of Mid-Michigan residents are in the dark following a weekend spring storm that brought rain, freezing rain, sleet, and snow.

At 8:00p.m. Sunday over 20,000 customers are without power according to the Consumers Energy outage map.

Consumers Energy spokesperson Terry Dedoes tells FOX 47 crews are being dispatched from West Virginia, Ohio, Kentucky, Illinois, and Indiana to help restore power to Mid-Michigan.

Over 118,000 Consumers Energy customers have experienced power outages since the storms began early Saturday morning.

Dedoes says current weather conditions are making restoration efforts difficult but have already restored power to over 80,000 customers.

The utility company expects to completely restore power to everyone by 11 p.m. Monday.

Residents in the City of Lansing also experienced outages. According to the Lansing Board of Water and Light outage map, 50 total outages remain as of 8:00 p.m. Sunday. Over 4,000 outages were reported Sunday afternoon.

Calls have been flowing into Ingham County Central Dispatch of trees falling on power lines and sparking.

According to dispatch, Bellevue Road and Edgar Road in Onondaga Township is closed due to a power line down. Gunn Road between Holt Road and Willoughby Road in Delhi Township is closed due to a power line down.

East Lansing Police report traffic signals from Kalamazoo to Trowbridge Roads are not working. They’re asking motorists to avoid the area.
