Third grader took gun to school

Posted

The Lansing School District has confirmed that a third-grade student took a gun to school Thursday.

It happened at Pleasant View Visual and Performing Arts Academy.

District Spokesman Bob Kolt says the boy showed the gun to two other students in a bathroom. He was automatically expelled as required by state law. Nobody was hurt.

A letter was sent home parents.

The boy claimed he found the gun under some leaves. An investigation showed the gun had been reported missing several years ago.
