LANSING, Mich. — The Homeless Angels organization that helps to meet the needs of homeless individuals and families in Ingham, Clinton, Eaton, and Shiawassee Counties, will kick off Homeless Awareness Month with the assistance of The Smoke N’ Pig, on November 1st, 2019.

In 2018, 65,104 people were homeless in Michigan, including 16,391 children. Seniors, 55 and over, are the largest rising demographic experiencing homelessness with an increase of 6% from 2016 to 2018. Homeless Awareness Month will be held all November. To help raise public awareness about the many issues relating to homelessness in Michigan, the Homeless Angels have many activities planned throughout the month. These events include PanHandling, Extreme Makeover, Street Outreach, Project Connect, Dinner in the Park, and many other volunteer opportunities, for the community to engage in.

For more information about Homeless Awareness Month and how to get involved in these planned activities with the Homeless Angels, please call Tracie Baise at 517.996.6366 or follow them on facebook.
