The City of Lansing is announcing temporary changes to yard waste collection program to address down trees and branches from last Friday's storm.
The City will begin the collection of storm debris in conjunction with the weekly yard waste collection program starting Monday, July 18, and will continue until the work is completed.
Other details of the program and guidelines for the placement of storm debris adjacent to the roadway are indicated below:
1. All tree debris shall be placed adjacent to the road way no later than Monday, July 18.
2. Please place limbs with larger cut ends facing the same direction in the pile without blocking the street or sidewalk.
3. Tree limbs or trunks must be no longer than 10 feet in length.
4. The expanded yard waste collection shall only include tree material and not building material such as wood, siding, and roofing material.
