UPDATE: Teenager killed, 3 children injured, in car-semi accident on US-127

UPDATE - Police have released more information about the accident involving a car and semi truck on U.S. 127 in Jackson County Wednesday morning.

A 2015 Nissan Pathfinder, driven by Norman Clarke (50-year -old male from Crestwood, Illinois) was struck from behind by a freight-liner driven by Thomas Sullivan (41-year-old male from Catlett, Virginia).

Clarke, his wife, and 3 children were in the vehicle, as well as an additional child. His 15-year-old child was killed, and his other two children aged 11 and 19 were injured. The additional child, who was 4-years-old, was also injured.

Police say a 15-year-old girl was killed in an accident involving a car and a semi truck on US-127 in Jackson County Wednesday morning.

It happened around 9:45 a.m. in the northbound lanes just south of Parnall Road.

The Blackman-Leoni Department of Public Safety says there were five people inside the car. Two were taken to the hospital, two were not injured, and the 15-year-old girl was pronounced dead at the scene.

Accident investigators still have not determined what caused the crash.
